COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK

Cunningham Falls State Park is now hiring lifeguards for the summer season. If you are a young person looking for that perfect summer job just go online to jobaps.com/md to sign up. These lifeguarding positions are being offered by the Maryland Park Service.

This week at American Legion Post 168 Tues 3/1 stretch out with Yoga from 5:30 to 6:30pm and then on Wed 3/2 there will be a Cornhole Tournament at 7pm with a Queen of Hearts drawing at 7:30 then on Thurs 3/3 enjoy Bingo and Line Dancing at 7pm and finally on Sun 3/6 bring the kids to come meet the Easter Bunny from 8am to Noon. The Cub Scouts will be serving a Pancake breakfast during Mr. Bunny’s visit.

Tues 4/1 The Heartly House invites you to hear a Survivor Speakers panel at 6 p.m. at the Emmitsburg Library. This discussion consists of victim experiences and how to support individuals going through abuse. The speakers will also discuss how to prevent abuse before it occurs. The Heartly House believes we can all play a role in ending domestic violence in our community.

Thurs 4/3 You are invited to the Buttonwood Nature Center’s program of “Memories and Stories of Happel’s Meadow” at the Blue Ridge Summit Fire Hall at 7pm This event focuses on the 78 acre wetlands along Route 16 in PA east of Waynesboro.

Fri. 3/4 Hang out with your friends and play Bingo at the Thurmont Event Complex with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and Bingo beginning at 6:45 p.m. There will be tip jars; food; a jackpot up to $1,000 and all proceeds go to benefit the Thurmont Community Ambulance Service. Sat. 3/5 There will be an Indoor & Outdoor Yard Sale at the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Dept. from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

Sat. 3/5 Checkout the Spring Craft Bazaar at the Fort Ritchie Community Center in Cascade Maryland from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Sat. 3/5 Checkout the Spring EGGstravaganza at the Thurmont Event Complex from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. The Easter Bunny will be there and there will be an Egg Hunt at 11 a.m.

Sat. 3/5 Checkout the Drive-Thru Meal & Bake Sale at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Creagerstown from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Sat 3/5 Get your advance orders in for Slippery Pot Pie & Country Ham Sandwiches Take-Out. The Chicken Slippery Pot Pies are $8/quart; the Country Ham Sandwiches are $5/each and pickup will take place on April 12, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lewistown United Methodist Church. Sat. 3/5 & Sun. 3/6 Head over to the Maryland Theater in Hagerstown for a musical play and performance by the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts: Once Upon A Mattress Musical at 7:30pm on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Sun. 3/6 The Shotgun Shoots are back at the Indian Lookout Conservation Club in Emmitsburg. Registration starts at noon and the shoots begin at 1 p.m.
