COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK

Wednesday July 29th Attention Junior Gardeners! The Emmitsburg Branch library invites you to join us from 10:30 to 11:30 am for a fun morning of exploring, creating, and learning how to care for plants and gardens. The class is for ages 5 to 12.

Friday July 31st Checkout a Line Dance Hoedown hosted by the Emmitsburg 50 plus Community Center with the doors opening at 11:30 a.m. a barbeque lunch at noon and the dancing begins at 1:30 p.m. featuring beginner friendly line dancing taught by FIBRE dance. The cost is $15 per person.

Friday July 31st There will be a gun drawing at American Legion Post 168 in Thurmont featuring a Ruger three zero eight limited 250th anniversary edition rifle. The cost for entry is $5 per ticket or 5 for $20. The drawing begins at 7pm.

Saturday August 1st There will be a Frederick Ukulele Jam at the Common Market Co-op on 7th St. in Frederick from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Join the ukulele jam and bring your ukulele and a few copies of some songs you might like to play.

Saturday August 1st You are invited to a Solar Viewing & Night Sky party starting at 2:00 p.m at Cunningham Falls State Park. The night sky viewing runs from 9 to 11 p.m. With the Westminster Astronomical Society inviting the public to two telescopic events! Solar Viewing will meet at South Beach parking lot to explore the Earth’s closest star — the Sun. A few hours into the evening, the second event will take place from 9 to 11 p.m. called Night Sky where visitors can meet at the Dam Overlook parking lot to view constellations and planets. Saturday, August 1st Grace “Rocky Hill” Lutheran Church invites you to their Strawberry Festival from 3 to 7:00 pm. Join us for our famous yard sale, delicious fried chicken platters, sandwiches, homemade soups, cakes, ice cream with strawberries and more. Music will be provide by 5 and a half Men. Food service begins at 3 p.m., music begins at 3:30 p.m.
