COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK
It’s summertime and that means Carnivals and this week you are invited to the Taneytown Firemen’s Carnival from Monday June 8th to Saturday June 13th. You can order lunch and pick it up from the Carnival Grounds every day from 11am to 1pm with dinner starting at 4:30pm. Enjoy rides, games, music and entertainment and loads of family fun all the way up until 10pm Monday through Saturday.
The Sons of American Legion Post 168 invite you to their Annual Car Show & Artisan Market on Park Lane in Thurmont from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday June 13th. This is a free event with hot rods, classic cars, motorcycles, sports cars and more. Trophies will be given. There will be vendors, food and a live remote with WTHU’s Nick Brady on hand playing great music.
Wednesday June 10th Help the Emmitsburg Community Heritage Day raise funds to “Save Our Fireworks” by having dinner at Kountry Kitchen in Thurmont from 4-8 p.m. Dine in or take out. 25% of the proceeds will go to support local fireworks.
Friday June 12th Dance, dance, dance at the Weller United Methodist Sock Hop in Thurmont from 6-9 p.m.
Saturday June 13th You are invited to the Bass Fishing Tournament at the Fort Ritchie Community Center in Cascade MD. from 7 to 11:30 a.m. There will be cash prizes, adult & youth divisions, 50/50 & raffles. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for youth 15 & under.
Saturday June 13th Chalk It Up Thurmont with Main Street, Thurmont from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring sidewalks to life with a kids’ chalk art event. Age groups: 3-7; 8-12; 13-17. One winner per age group. Check in at 10 Tavern from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Saturday June 13th Checkout the Festival at Mt. Tabor Church Park, Home of the Big Slide in Rocky Ridge from 3 to 8 p.m. with music by Taylor Brown’s “Elvis” from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be home-cooked food: soups, sandwiches, iced tea & ice cream.
Saturday June 13th Play Bingo at the Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Company with doors opening at 5pm and the games beginning at 7pm.
Sunday June 14th First Baptist Church in Thurmont invites your to their Children’s Festival from 10am to noon with games, crafts, puppets and free ice cream. Please bring a canned food item to donate to the Thurmont Food Bank.
