The following Frederick County Public Schools will distribute free meals every Monday and Thursday starting from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.:

Ballenger Creek Elementary
Hillcrest Elementary
Lincoln Elementary
Spring Ridge Elementary
Sugarloaf Elementary
Thurmont Middle
Waverley Elementary
Whittier Elementary

Free meals will be available to children in the community who are 18 years old and younger. The program will also serve people who are older than 18 who are enrolled in a program for people with disabilities. All county children are eligible and do not have be enrolled in the Frederick County Public school system. On Mondays, to-go breakfast, lunch, supper, and snack will be distributed for that Monday, and the upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursdays, to-go breakfast and lunches will be distributed for Thursday and Friday and to-go supper and snacks will be distributed for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Children do not have to be present. A parent or guardian can pick the up meals for their children.

Friday 9/25 You are invited to the Mount Tabor Church Festival at Mount Tabor Church Park in Rocky Ridge from 2-6 p.m. with music by the Pick Up Band. There will be great food too but remember no credit cards….this event is cash only

Friday 9/25 There will be a Bingo Bash at the Vigilant Hose Co. Activities Bldg. on Creamery Rd., in Emmitsburg with the doors opening at 4 p.m. and the games beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at door.

Friday 9/24 Checkout Family Movie Night sponsored by the Thurmont Little League There will be food, snacks and a special showing of the great baseball classic: The Sandlot. Be sure to bring blankets or chairs to sit on the outfield grass and enjoy the movie. A popcorn machine will be provided thanks to Elle Smith of J&B Real Estate and concessions will also be available. The movie will start at dusk at the Thurmont Little League baseball field.

Friday 9/25 & Saturday 9/26 Checkout the 47th Annual Smithsburg Steam and Craft Show at the Washington County Ag Center in Boonsboro from 10am to 5pm with arts & crafts, tractors, steam engines, pony rides, flea markets, down home cooking and more. Admission is free. Proceeds go to benefit the Smithsburg Athletics fund.
