Finishing up the local summer carnival season this Mon. 8/15 through Sat. 8/20 we head out to Rocky Ridge for the Rocky Ridge Vol Firemen’s Carnival. There will be music, rides, fun, games, entertainment and more. The parade will be Wed. 8/17.

Sat. 8/20 The University of Maryland Extension’s Frederick County Master Gardeners free seminars continue with: “Growing up Wild,” at the UME Office on Montevue Ln. in Frederick from 9 a.m.-noon.

Sat. 8/20 Checkout the Festival at St. John’s Church at the Willard Pavilion off Harbaugh Valley Rd. in Sabillasville. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with raffles, food, a dunk tank, a moon bounce, pony rides, music & more.

Sat. 8/20 You are invited to the Annual Wolfsville picnic at Smith’s Picnic Woods on MD route 17 with musical entertainment throughout the afternoon featuring Ernie Bradley and the Grassy Ridge Band, the Rohrersville Band and Hearts in Harmony. There will be a white elephant, crafts, garden produce and home-baked goods with homemade soups, featuring slippery pot-pie, country ham sandwiches and hand-dipped ice cream. Hosted by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
