COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK
Monday February 23rd You are invited to join the Thurmont Ministerium for a Community Lenten Service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Thurmont at 7 p.m. This is a multi denominational event sponsored by area churches to promote fellowship and unity in the Thurmont community.
Friday February 27th Is Fish Fry Friday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Libertytown from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The cost is $14 per person which includes fried pollock (gluten free), a choice of 2 sides, cake and beverage. Kids are $5 and under 4 is free. There is a family rate of $35 as well. Carryouts are available.
Friday February 27th You are invited to enjoy the 2026 F C C Jazz Festival Evening Concert in the Jack Kusmaul theater on the Frederick Community College campus from 7 to 8pm. The event is free but a $15 donation is suggested. The Todd Marcus Orchestra is the headlining artist with an opening performance by the Frederick County Public School All-County Jazz Band.
Saturday February 28th Head over to the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium for the Maryland Home and Garden Show. The doors open at 10:00 am. The cost is $10 per person online in advance and Seniors cost $8. For more information, or to buy tickets, go online to mdhomeandgarden.com
Saturday February 28th The National Christian Choir will perform in Concert at the Frederick Seventh-day Adventist Church from 4 to 6pm. The National Christian Choir is featured Sundays at 6 am right here on WTHU. They will perform live at a free concert.
Sunday March 1st All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Frederick invites you to their continuing Lenten series “Answering the Call: God’s Presence in Leadership” from 9 to 9:45 am in the chapel. This is the second in the Lenten Speaker Series with the theme of “Tending to God’s Children,” Ronald Mitchell Jr., M.S., Nationally Certified School Psychologist, will discuss how to “Lead from the Middle,” striving to find the strengths and needs of children within their educational environments and home life, as well as how the educational team and parents can best support students in and out of school.
Sunday March 1st Calvary United Methodist Church continues with their wonderful 2026 Community Concert Series. This week they feature Extreme Chopin — The Final Installment in the chapel from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Brian Ganz will perform part of his “Chopin Project” presented by the National Philharmonic Orchestra at the Strathmore. Concert pianist Brian Ganz is on a quest to perform all 250 works by Fryderyk Chopin and Calvary U M C is been honored to support this endeavor. This concert, performed on Chopin’s 216th birthday, is an interactive and highly energetic performance. The concert is free. Seating begins at 2:30 p.m.
