Monday September 7th You can be Served With Grace and a free dinner at Graceham Moravian Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday September 8th You are invited to Thurmont’s 275th Anniversary celebration and a screening of the 1940’s film, Thurmont on Parade at the Town Office Meeting Room on East Main St. at 6:30 p.m. Join Mayor Kinnaird for the screening of film.
Thursday September 10th Checkout the 3-D Archery Shoots at Indian Lookout Conservation Club on Riffle Rd. in Emmitsburg at 5 p.m.
Friday September the 11th through Sunday September 13th the Thurmont & Emmitsburg Community Show returns to Catoctin High School. The doors open at 8:30 for free entry of exhibits and close at 11:30 a.m. The show opens to the public at 5:30 p.m. The opening ceremony will be held in the school auditorium at 6:30 p.m. with a special tribute to 9/11 and the announcement of the 2026-2027 Catoctin FFA Chapter Ambassador. The baked goods auction starts at 7:30 p.m. All 3 days September 10th through the 12th the Friends of Thurmont Regional Library used book sale will take place with historical photographs, vintage quilts and afghans, and displays by community and business organizations. On Sunday there will be a buffet from 11a.m. to 2pm along with the kiddie tractor pull, a log sawing contest and a horseshoe pitching contest.
Friday September 11th There will be a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in Memorial Park in Thurmont at 6:30 p.m. featuring speaker Daryl Byrne a former Connecticut Fire Dept. firefighter. Bring chairs or blankets. The remembrance ceremony is sponsored by the Thurmont Lions Club.
Friday September 11th Checkout Bingo at the Thurmont Event Complex with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and Bingo beginning at 6:45 p.m. There will be tip jars, food, a jackpot up to $1,000 and all proceeds go to benefit the Thurmont Community Ambulance Service.
Saturday September 12th marks the 43rd Annual In The Streets Festival in downtown Frederick from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Enjoy six venues of live entertainment, eight blocks of themed fun, the Craft Beverage Experience ($5 cover charge per person) and more! Kick off the day with a little fitness and sign up for the Market Street Mile at 9 a.m. From art to live music to history to crafts, there is something for everyone! Kids Block on North Market Street from 6th to 7th streets. Shop within the storefront downtown Frederick and walk up down to check out all the vendors. Adults 21 and over are invited to round out the fun by joining the Up The Creek Party from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater!
Saturday September 12th Checkout the Apple Harvest Cider Festival at the Gamber & Community Fire Company in Carroll County from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is an annual tribute to the Old Line State’s rich orchard heritage and booming craft cider scene. Hosted by the Cider Association of Maryland.
Saturday September 12th Play Bingo at the Rocky Ridge Volunteer Firehouse with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and the games beginning at 7 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.
Sunday September 13th Follow the smoke and the smell of delicious barbeque to the Lewistown Ruritan Chicken Barbeque at the corners of Route 15 North & Fish Hatchery Rd. in Lewistown at 10 a.m. until all the chicken is gone, so get there early!
Sunday September 13th You are invited to an Open House at Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Join us as we consecrate our newly improved Sanctuary. This is an open house so feel free to come and stay as long as you like. There will be light refreshments, music and information about our church will be available.
