COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK

This week the legendary South Mountain Fair returns to Arendtsville Pennsylvania on Tuesday July 22 and runs until Saturday July 26th. The Fair opens at 4pm weekdays and 1pm on Saturday. Admission is $8 per person which includes rides, entertainment and parking. The Fair features a livestock market, draft and miniature horse pulling contests, chainsaw carving, laser tag and lots of great music, fun and food. Saturday there will be an antique tractor parade. The Fair is fun for the whole family located just west of Gettysburg in the country with plenty of free parking.

This week at the Thurmont Senior Center Monday July 21st checkout Paulines Pals Painting Rocks Party at 1pm and then on Thursday July 24th play Farkle at 1pm.

Vacation Bible School from Monday July 21st to Friday July 25th True North — Trusting Jesus in a Wild World at Graceham Moravian Church evenings from 6:30 to 8:45pm For more information, go online to gracehammoravian.org

Tuesday July 22nd Discover Food Preservation – Canning & Freezing at the Emmitsburg Branch Library at 6 p.m. and then on Thursday July 24th checkout the Tween Teen Leadership Camp for ages 11 through 18 at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday July 24th through Saturday July 26th there will be a yard and bake sale at Elias Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Friday July 25th Checkout the Splish Splash Bubble Bash on the Deck at the beautiful Thorpewood Retreat Center on Mink Farm Rd. west of Thurmont in the mountains at 2 p.m.

Saturday July 26th Attention all snake lovers. The Western Maryland Reptile Show returns to the Frederick Fairgrounds from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults 12 and over and $5 for ages 6-11. 5 & under are free. For more information, go online to mdreptilefarm.com

Saturday July 26th Hangout with our friends at the “Christmas in July” Artisan Market at American Legion Post 168 in Thurmont from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Saturday July 26th You can pickup a Chicken BBQ platter at the Rocky Ridge Volunteer drive through from 11am until they are sold out. Platters are $15 and you get a quarter chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, applesauce, a roll & a drink.

Saturday July 26th Speaking of Christmas in July there will be a Hymn Sing at Apples United Church of Christ in Thurmontat 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the program.

Saturday July 26th You are invited to a free Concert on the Hill featuring The Hyssongs at Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church’s Promised Land just off Route 140 east of Emmitsburg at 5 p.m. The concert includes a free dinner. For more information, go online to tomscreekumc.com
